The Shaldera Track Club is proud to announce our inaugural Cross Country season starting on Tuesday September 6, 2016. We will be practicing Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays at 4:30pm with practices lasting no longer than 90 minutes (typically around an hour though). In order to best accommodate the various families, provide our athletes the diversity of training opportunities, and work around scheduled events we will be conducting practices at several locations throughout Panama City and Panama City Beach, FL. Monday practices will rotate through Aaron Bessant Park, Frank Brown Park, and Conservation Park based on availability with PCB Parks. Tuesday practices will be held at the Bay Memorial Walking Park on Balboa Ave in Panama City, FL. Thursdays will be bridge runs on the Hathaway Bridge meeting in the old K-Mart parking lot.
Registration for the season will be $75/child which covers a t-shirt, Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) & USA Track & Field (USATF) membership fees, training facility and equipment costs, and contributes to club membership dues and associated fees. Additional expenses may include meet fees, associated travel expenses (all meets except the USATF National Championship should be doable in a day trip), and uniforms which are optional. Note, it is up to individual families to choose which events to participate in however some events may require qualifying at prior events in order to be eligible. All coaches are volunteers who love the sport of athletics, have a great deal of experience coaching in various fields, and have undergone annual background checks by the AAU.
